We have coasted to Mollymook, a town nestled on the pristine South coast of New South Wales. Just a leisurely three hour drive south of Sydney and two and a half hours from Canberra, Mollymook is the perfect beach getaway. Allow us to share with you our favourite dining establishments in Mollymook and its charming neighbouring towns, Milton and Ulladulla.
Gwylo offers an array of delectable dishes paired with exquisite cocktails, all in the midst of a serene and inviting atmosphere. The dishes are inspired by the owners travels and work experiences in Malyasia and Kuala Lumpur, where he was named "Gwylo" the white ghost. Despite its unassuming location, this restaurant never fails to exude an air of liveliness, attracting people from near and far.
Milk Haus known as a "garden to plate eatery," invites you to wander through the lush gardens teeming with citrus trees, veggies, aromatic herbs and chickens, before sitting down to a freshly prepared meal. Set at a former cheese factory in Milton, this establishment has cultivated a space of creativity and community, with its kitchen-garden, cooking classes and pop-up Motion Ceramics store. The atmosphere evokes the charm of "The Farm" in Byron Bay, as it strives to create conscious and sustainable meals.
Perched atop the Bannisters Pavilion, The Rooftop has a refreshing sea-breeze and chic decor. It serves as an ideal spot to relax at the week's end, offering a modern Australian menu and an array of delightful cocktails. Although the menu was small in size, the meals were executed very well.
Dusty's Garden Bar on Cupitt's Estate has delicious cocktails, share-plates and pizzas with an amazing view overlooking the vineyards. A family favourite, kids were playing footy on the grass as parents sipped on their wines and enjoyed the live music.
The Ruse offers a wholesome morning experience, bathed in morning sunlight with picturesque views of the Ulladulla Harbour. It's the perfect spot to savour a morning coffee and breakfast.
As the sun sets, The Ruse establishment undergoes a captivating transformation. It morphs into a lively cocktail bar, serving Mexican food, all set under the mesmerising allure of a disco ball. It's a truly groovy experience that's not to be missed.
We hope you enjoy our recommendations and your time on the South Coast.
Happy Coasting!
